Passionate about helping you feel comfortable with your care.
Dr. Emma Furze
Dr. Emma Furze is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. She has always had a passion for health care, coming from a family of nurses, she knew that medicine in some capacity, was in her future. Born and raised in Vancouver, Dr. Furze left to pursue her dreams of playing soccer at the collegiate level. She graduated from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec with a Bachelor of Science, Specialization in Biology and then returned to BC for medical school where she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. At CCNM, she was honoured at graduation with the BNSA Leadership Award, selected by her colleagues.
Dr. Furze is dedicated to providing inclusive health care for women of all shapes and sizes, especially those who have felt dismissed by their provider in the past. She acknowledges that weight bias is a large issue in health care, and ensures that all patients are heard, have their concerns properly investigated and treated accordingly,
Her approach to health care comes from a place of compassion, as she works with you collaboratively to investigate your concerns and create a care plan that works for your unique lifestyle. Dr. Furze is invested in not just helping you with what you’re facing today, but understanding your journey and what you have already experienced. She uses the principles of historic naturopathic medicine as a base for care, while carefully integrating the most recent research to the art and science of medicine. Everyone has their own definition of what health means to them, and as it is already challenging enough to navigate on your own, but Dr. Furze is looking forward to guiding you along the way.
Dr. Furze loves supporting her patients on a journey to intuitive eating and healing from disordered eating habits. She has a special interest in treating conditions such as acne, PCOS, dysmenorrhea, fibroids, endometriosis, and optimizing fertility.
When not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Furze reading a book on the patio or paddle boarding on a local lake in the summer. During the winter, she will be skiing groomers at Whistler Blackcomb or escaping to somewhere warm.
